1, One pier, many activities

2, The sign reads
"Norway (hourly) Hotel". It's a love hotel, very scandinavian.

3, Highrise living. In London a building as tall as this podium would be considered a highrise.

4, Hong Kong's version of
Wisteria Lane, minus the desperate housewives, plus a misspelling.

5, Rubbish Bins in the Hong Kong metro. Not a common sight in the London Underground.

6, This is not the
Berwick Street in London Soho, where I lunch most of the time. This is the Hong Kong Berwick Street, where I had a haircut....
7, ...... here. This is a traditional barber shop. They only use scissors so if you tell them you want a No. 1 cut they won't understand what you are talking about.

You certainly have lots of fun comparing and constrasting London and HK. Me too, enjoy a lot reading your blog. Thank you. :-)
I am amazed how you could find such an old fashion hair parlour to have your hair cut.
My parents dropped me off at Shek Kip Mei last week, where I used to catch the mini bus everyday in secondary school. The neighbourhood has changed so much as a lot of the old housing estates have given way to highrise towers and I just felt a bit nostalgic and sentimental.
Recently I have been trying to support these old businesses such as corner stores, snake soup shops and old barber shops because I think they are quickly disappearing...
It is good that you support these old shops by visiting them and buying service/products from them. Actions are stronger than words.
I must say, however, Toronto downtown was very much the same as I was there some 25 years ago.
I love the 'Wistaria Road' - you fit right in as the HK version of 'Bree', I'm sure...
